An 'ecosystem is region with a specific and recognizable landscape form,such as a forest,grassland,desert,wetland or coastal area .The nature of the ecosystems is based on its geographical features like hills ,mountains,plains,rivers,lakes,coastal areas or iselands.It is also controlled by climatic onditions-the amount of sunlight,the temperature and the rainfall in the region.THe geographical climatic and soil characteristics from its non-living or abiotic component.These features create conditions that support a community of plants and animals that evolution has produced to live in these specific conditions .The living part of the ecosystem is reffered to as its biotic component .These features create conditions that support a community of plants and animals that evolution has produced to live in these specific conditions.The living part of the ecosystem is reffered to as its biotic component.
Ecosystmes are devided in to terristrial or land-based ecosystems and aquatic ecosystems in water.These form the two major habitat conditions for the Earth's living organisms.
